There are times when the snacks in the hotel mini bar just won’t cut it. Let’s face it, there are only so many Pringles, Kit Kats, and pretzels a girl can down before needing something just a little bit more substantial to make it through the day. The thing is, room service prices at many hotels are out-of-this-world crazy expensive. And if you’re in a hotel on the outer fringes of an airport in God-knows-where, good luck hoofing it to the nearest Denny’s in THOSE shoes. So what’s a hungry girl on a budget to do?
MacGiyer-esque ingenuity that’s what.
With a little foresight and planning, you too can eat like a champ during your next layover. Well, maybe not like a champ, but at least you won’t be eating out of the bin.
The folks at Air Transat have come out with a video detailing just how easy it is to whip up something other than an expensive room service bill using everyday things you’d find around your hotel room. It’s from a series called Tarmac by Transit, and it aims to bring travellers useful tips and tricks for their next vacation. This particular video gives the lowdown on how to come up with a quick and easy meal when there are not restaurant alternatives on site, or in sight.
